OPPOSE KITSAP COUNTY ORDINANCE

Dear Members and Supporters,

Farmland Pets and Feed in Silverdale, Washington, the only pet and supply store in Kitsap County, is at risk of losing their family business of 42 years because the three Kitsap County Commissioners have been coerced by animal rights groups to implement an ordinance mandating that Farmland Pets source their animals for sale only from rescues and shelters.

Kitsap County Commissioners are preparing to vote on this ordinance on Monday, May 6th. They are acting as the judge, jury, and executioner for this 42-year family owned business and we must all make our voices heard to try and stop it.

The second tragedy here is the fact that these County Commissioners are pushing this ordinance under the premise of lies and false information about USDA licensed breeders! No well-informed retail pet store is going to sell dogs and cats sourced from any so-called “rescue” or animal shelter because they know the facts that animals obtained from these unregulated sources impose a threat to the health and safety of both people and other animals.

Please reach out and help our friends and Member at Farmland Pets and Feed by sending a letter OPPOSING the proposed ordinance to prohibit the sale of puppies and kittens except from “certified animal welfare organizations” between today and May 6th, 2019.

Even if you are not from Kitsap County, Washington, please send your emails to the County Commissioners respectfully urging them oppose this ordinance.

Please remember to modify our boiler-plate letter to make it your own.

Also, please go to the Farmland Pets and Feed Facebook Page and like their page and leave a positive review or comment. The animal rights people have had a field day harrassing this business, and they could use a boost from our side!
