Weight Pull Events and Rules
An ADBA sanctioned weight pull is an event in which an ADBA Registered dog competes within his weight class pulling a cart and specified weights 15’ (feet) in 60 seconds. Place awards of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd will be determined through a process of elimination within weight class entered by increased weight determined by ADBA sanctioned judge.
The classes are Males/Females: 25 lbs & Under, 25 – 35 lbs, 35 – 45 lbs, 45 – 55 lbs, 55 – 65 lbs, 65 – 75 lbs, 75 – 85 lbs, 85 – 95 lbs, 95 lbs and Over.
Three trophies are awarded for Most Weight Per Pound (MWPP)
45 lbs & Under, MWPP 45 – 75 lbs, MWPP 75 lbs and Over.
The ACE classes are 45 lbs and Under, 45 – 75 lbs, 75 lbs and Over.
Three trophies in the Ace class – MWPP 45 lbs & Under, MWPP 45 – 75 lbs, MWPP 75 lbs and Over.
Effective 2018: The MWP trophy award will be awarded to the dog that pulls the most weight, regardless of dog’s title. Points earned: 10 points.
This event is held according to the ADBA Weight Pull rules. Points earned are accumulative to achieve the ADBA title of Weight Pull ACE. An ADBA weight pull ACE title, as well as the degree(s) of rank (Ace of Ace, A/A I, A/A II, etc.) is documented and recorded within the ADBA studbook.
