The Salt Lake Terrier Association is longest standing Utah American Pit Bull Terrier Club founded in 1986 by Amy Greenwood-Dudar and Joe Burford along with other fanciers in the Salt Lake City area in an effort to promote the APBT through responsible ownership. Each year since that time, the association has held shows, weight pulls, meeting and get togethers for the purpose of educating local owners, encouraging responsible ownership and promoting the breed. We are the only ADBA Sanctioned Club in Utah.

Membership Form- Membership in the Salt Lake Terrier Association is $25 per person or $35 per household. The membership of the SLTA is made up of dedicated fanciers that come out to help put on the shows and pulls, and other organized club events. We have hard working, fun loving, dedicated people that make this association work. We have members who go above and beyond the call of duty daily to promote the breed in their communities and across the nation.
Within our membership the SLTA has nine ADBA sanctioned conformation judges that travel worldwide to judge and promote the breed. Two of our members were named "Dog Man Of The Year" in 2004 and 2017 for their contributions to the breed. One of our members raised over $1,100 dollars in a quilt raffle to fund a dog charity, and that the club as a whole, raised over $1,000 for the Endangered Breed Association, by hosting their benefit show. We have a member with a registered ‘therapy’ dog that visits the elderly at nursing homes in her community. Several members have been awarded the ADBA Leaders of the Future Scholarship in 2003, 2010 and 2015. We are proud of each and everyone of our members, because of the dedication they have shown to this association and their breed of choice the American Pit Bull Terrier.
We welcome other American Pit Bull Terrier owners who feel the same, to come on out and get acquainted and join the Salt Lake Terrier Association.
